RUFC - Reuben's hair raising success

Rotherham United's hat-trick hero from Tuesday night, Reuben Reid, thinks his new hair cut might be lucky!

Speaking to The Star, the twenty-year old said, 'I thought I needed a hair change but didn't like the first cut which was a bit Will Smith in 'Back in the Day', so I decided to get rid and cut it myself. Perhaps this was lucky for me!

'I was delighted to get my first hat-trick and get the match ball and I would like to think there will be many more to come. You know, I've always played as central striker before I came to Rotherham but to get into teams you have to adjust and, although it's unfamiliar to me, I think I've done alright on the right hand side. Sometimes I've not featured in games as much as I could have and it's hard and, although I feel good with the ball, if I don't see it then it's just as important to help the team out.'

His Manager, Mark Robins, called him an enigma after the game at Chester and said, 'He's started to do things we've been working on in training and things that we know he's capable of. If he does that then there are more goals to come.' And the haircut? 'It was bloody awful,' Robins laughed.
