'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'Clarke needs more belief'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, says that Jamie Clarke, on loan from Blackburn Rovers, needs to have more belief in himself.

Speaking to The Advertiser after Tuesday night's win at Chester, Robins said, 'If Jamie had had a bit more belief in himself he'd have had a couple of goals tonight. If we are going to win games against top sides we have to have something a little bit special or different and I think we have that in Jamie. He's got blistering pace and some of the things he does are outstanding but I want to see him gamble a bit more when he gets in the penalty area.'

On Tuesday night the twenty year old had a great chance when one-on-one with the 'keeper but didn't take it and later on, after doing really well to get into a shooting position he seemed to hesitate just that bit too much and the opportunity was lost. But, he is only young and I, for one, am sure he will get more confident as he progresses. Whether that will be with the Millers or not we will just have to wait and see.
