RUFC - Breckin before tonight's game
Rotherham United take on ex Manger Alan Knill's Bury tonight and the Millers Assistant Manager, John Breckin told Radio Sheffield that he expects it to add a bit of spice to the game.
Talking about Alan Knill and the game with Bury tonight, Breck said, 'Ronnie Moore and myself gave Alan a chance as a coach and made him Youth Coach and we knew it was right for him. He did the ground work went onto work as a Reserve Coach and then stepped up into management. He's done a good job at Bury and they deserve to be where they are and all credit to Alan, his staff and the players there.
'After him being on the staff here, it will add a bit of spice to the game - you always want to get one over on your old club. It will be a tough game but it's a game we want to win. I don't worry about the opposition, I am one of those people who worry about what our side are doing. And, if we play to our potential then Bury have got to be really excellent on the night to beat us.'
The talk turned to the weather and Breckin said, 'It's just been a farce today (Monday) with the wind. There's balls and bibs and cones blowing all over and it's been a tough morning but we've prepared. The wind does hinder things a bit and you try to keep things short but it's difficult when you have a certain way of playing and the wind does rattle round Don Valley.
'One week you are playing in bright sunshine and then you get up one morning to gale force winds! But, that's English football for you and what makes it such a great game!'
