'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'it's an honour to manage this club'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has already had talks at top level about next season and the plans for the club and he knows that his team will be expected to be amongst the challengers next season. 'Our challenges will be different next season,' Robins told The Star.

And so it should be! Last summer the club had no ground, no training ground and less than no points! And, it wasn't really until the day before the season began that we knew if there would be a club at all.

'No one outside the club can really judge what we had to do,' Robins carried on. 'We had to overcome all those challenges and it's only thanks to the great effort by everyone that we've done that.

'People talk about squad sizes and high budgets and we are no where near the highest budget in this division. It was hard, but we have balanced the books.

'It's a challenge, yes, but it's also an honour and privilege to manage this club and I treat the job with respect. I will do the best I can do and have done what I can within the parameters set.

'In the current financial climate who knows what effect it will have at our level. Players may become available earlier than they have been and we have a new flexibility in how we've been able to react to the market. But, as we know, things change frequently in football.'
