RUFC - Community Sports Trust Award

Rotherham United have been granted a Silver Award by the Football League Trust for their work in the community.

The Official Site says that the Staff were recently assessed by a regional Trust team who gave them the silver award which means they have £48k that will be invested into community activities.

To achieve this status the club had to fulfil a range of criteria which included

*at least one themed officer working on one of four themes, the themes being social inclusion/community cohesion, health, education and sports participation
*to show evidence of how the Football League Trust's funding was being used and how it will be used to attract additional funding
*a minimum of a three years business plan
*a strong player appearance policy
*to have charitable status in place
*to show evidence of how schemes are being linked into local decision making groups
*to show evidence on how the scheme works with the football club on issues that include youth development

The silver award has been given to eleven clubs in the Championship, thirteen in League One and seven in League Two.

I know some of the lads involved in this and they work very hard - well done to you all!
