'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rotherham Reserves 0 v Leeds Reserves 1

Rotherham United Reserves were unlucky to lose this afternoon at Don Valley.

In the first twenty minutes, Omar Garcia, had a looping header that Leeds 'keeper, Matt Edwards managed to get his fingertips to and, again just before the half-hour mark, Garcia managed to get to a ball from Grant Darley but his shot went over the bar. A minute later Garcia crossed to Dean Winnard but he headed over the bar. Garcia was in the action again a few minutes later when his thumping shot re-bounded and fell to Emmot Parr-Gallagher but his shot was well blocked. Leeds first real chance came just before half-time when Jamie Annerson did well to hold onto a shot from Tom Elliott.

The visitors scored a minute into the second half when Liam Darville's shot bobbled just in front of Annerson, which fooled the 'keeper and went into the net. At the other end, Edwards did well to keep out a shot from Garcia and around the fifty minute mark, the Leeds goalie held onto a shot from Garcia that looked certain to go in. Annerson made a good save from Sanchez Payne and in the final five minutes, a Garcia corner found the head of Andy Nicholas but the tall defender headed just wide of the post.
