RUFC - Robins disappointed with defenders

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, said that today's match at Don Valley with Shrewsbury was a poor game.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, after the loss, Robins said, 'We gave two poor goals away today and it was a performance that was below parr for us, though I think the result flattered Shrewsbury. There was a lack of quality and what looked like a lack of desire to go and defend today. That's disappointing for me to say because they've been a class act this season. We've had some rest this week so it can't be that. We are in a virtual world and looking to achieve something if we hadn't had the points penalty and it's difficult to replicate the same emotions as Shrewsbury because they are playing for something tangible. We're not and that's the difficulty for us at the moment. We got ourselves back into the game and we just let them waltz round five of our defenders and put it into the net. I thought we improved a bit in the second half but it was really just an end of season game.

'The players should know that they are still being judged and, as the saying goes, you are only as good as your last game and we weren't good enough today.

'We've got three games left. A win on Tuesday and we're back on target for our aims for the end of the season. And, we can still have a say in who goes up, who is in the play-offs and who's not.'
