RUFC - Brogan pens new deal

Rotherham United defender, Stephen Brogan could have been forgiven for being a bit worried of late. The recently turned twenty-one year old has been out of action since last season when he broke his leg against MK Dons and with his contract coming up for renewal he might have felt a little apprehensive.

But, he has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that a deal has been agreed. 'My contract is up,' the Rotherham born player said, 'but I'm getting another one and it's been agreed and I'll definitely be at the club next season.

'Being a local lad the fans have got behind me which is a big help. There's nothing I'd like better than to be back in the last sixteen for the final couple of games of the season and that would let people know that I am really back. I've spoken to the gaffer and he's said when I'm fit there's a couple of games there for me. I've had three games in the Reserves and hopefully will play another this week and fingers crossed I'll be fine. These reserve games have given me a bit of confidence. That first game I played in the reserves gave me a good feeling because my family were there and some people from the club and I had a big smile on my face because it was great to be playing in a competitive game after thirteen months.

'My legs fine - I've got a bit of a limp but there's no pain and the main thing is it's not affecting my football.'
