RUFC - Coughlan rooting for Millers next year

Rotherham United lost to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday at Don Valley and playing for Town was ex Miller, Graham Coughlan.

Couglan joined the Millers in the summer of 2007, after being released by Sheffield Wednesday and it was said at the time that the Irish defender was on his way to sign for another club but Millers Manager, Mark Robins used his persuasive powers and he turned round and signed for Rotherham.

Speaking to MillersWorld after the game on Saturday, Graham said, 'It's a hard place to come to not only because of the tough pitch but also because of the squad that's assembled here - they are a good, honest bunch of lads - and it was in the back of my mind that they might turn us over today. You have to take your hat off to the football club, fans and anyone involved with Rotherham United over the way they've gone about their season. Providing we aren't in the same league next season I will be rooting for them.

'I think it's a travesty that the League can come and decimate a football club the way they have and not only here, other clubs as well. I am chuffed with the way they've mounted a charge this season and, I've said all along, Rotherham United should be in League One.'

Graham played forty-five games for the Millers last season, scoring one goal.
