RUFC - Millers lose at Elland Road

Rotherham United Reserves lost this evening to a strong Leeds United side at Elland Road.

The game was settled in the eighth minute by a goal from David Prutton although the home side should have gone one-up in the first minute when a Liam Dickinson shot went just wide of Steven Cann's goal. Just after Prutton put the home side ahead, Omar Garcia got the ball to Marc Grocott and his shot hit the inside of the post but went out to safety. Garcia then found Grant Darley whose shot was pushed to safety by Darryl Flahaven and just before the half-time whistle Tom Thorley saw a header go just wide after he had received a good ball from Stephen Brogan.

Within minutes of the re-start Cann had to save a Prutton shot with his legs and on sixty-five minutes, Prutton found himself free but his shot went wide. Grocott nearly got the equaliser in the last ten minutes when Flahaven looked to have caught the ball but dropped it and had to save it again on the line.
