RUFC - Breck 'Chairman deserves credit'

RUFC - Breck 'Chairman deserves credit'

With Rotherham United going into the last game of the season tomorrow against promotion hopeful's Exeter City, Assistant Manager, John Breckin, took a quick trip down memory lane to this time last year.

Speaking to The Advertiser, he said, 'When you look back and think that this time last year we thought we were staying at Millmoor and then we had the financial problems, what we've actually achieved at this club is amazing. For what the Chairman, Tony Stewart, has done, he deserves a massive pat on the back from everyone at the club. Mark and I sit back sometimes and marvel at what has gone off.'

Coming back up to the present, Breck is hoping that the fans will get behind the team for the last game tomorrow. 'The fans have stuck by us by buying their season tickets which has been great and I hope they will do the same this summer because that will enable us to go out and buy the players we want. We know it isn't ideal at Don Valley but the future is looking bright. We will have the new training ground soon and hopefully a new ground. We have turned the corner and the club will go onto better things next season. Mark signed a four year contract here because he has faith in the club.

'We want to finish this season in what would be a top three finish and Mark is drilling it into the lads that we want to finish on a high and then we can start looking forward to next season.'
