'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Hudson 'we are confident for next year'

Rotherham United midfielder, Mark Hudson, summed up the season after the last game on Saturday.

Speaking to Gerry Somerton of RotherFM, the twenty-nine year old said, 'If we had been up there from the start, it would have been different. You have a different outlook on the game when you are up there.

'A few of the games towards the end of the season at Don Valley have been a bit scrappy and I think the pitch has something to do with that. It's completely wrecked in the middle and there's no room to pass a ball.

'From the team point of view I think we've done really well this season. Looking at Exeter today, we've all said that has to be us next year and we are confident that we can do it.

'Personally, I've played forty-one or forty-two games and I think I've done reasonably well. The highlight of the season for me was beating Sheffield Wednesday and the cup games. They were bigger teams than us and we matched them. The League games have been a bit nitty gritty and teams in this league play a lot different against you. You have to graft a lot more and tackle a lot more but that's what league two is all about.

'We were disappointed that Exeter got that goal towards the end of the game and watching their celebrations after the game we hope that next season that will be us.'
