'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins 'be nice to start level'

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, will probably just be happy to be starting on '0' next season and has been making plans.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Robins said, 'It will be nice to start on a level playing field next time and we really need to be looking at being up there. To do that, we need to be better and we certainly need to add one or two players to give us a bit of impetus.

'It's been difficult this season and the players have been magnificent and, after the main objective had been reached of staying up, they did well to keep it going until nearly the end of the season. We were a nearly side at the end although we achieved nearly every objective. The difficult part has been saying we can do this, we can do that, when there really has been nothing to play for.

'It's important we keep moving forward on the field and we don't want anything to stagnate. We want to make sure all the plans we have come to fruition to give us a chance next season.'

Without the minus points the Football League slapped on the Millers at the start of the season, they would have now been getting ready for the play-offs. Which isn't bad, is it, when, a year ago, we didn't know where we were going to be playing and, even the day before the season started, if we would be playing.
