RUFC - Pablo 'Promotion is the only option'

RUFC - Pablo 'Promotion is the only option'

Rotherham United skipper, Pablo Mills, thinks anything less than promotion will be a failure next season.

After having three seasons of points deducted with the Millers, Mills says it's time he, and the team, had some success.
'We start on a clean slate next season,' the twenty-five year old told The Advertiser, 'and promotion is the only option.

'The gaffer will be looking at what areas of the team need to be strengthened but we have a solid base and we are in a position to push on.'

Despite the good season he's had in midfield, Mills still thinks that centre-half is where his best play is. 'I'm not the type who goes for all the headers but I'm always going to say I'm a centre-half. The gaffer put me in a defensive midfield position because he recognises my defensive qualities. To be honest, I'll enjoy it wherever I play.'

When asked about his role as captain he admitted it hadn't always been an easy job. 'It's an experienced side and it can be a bit hard trying to organise someone like Nick Fenton who's been around longer than me. But what has made the job easier was that they're all a great bunch and there's some good dressing room banter.

'It's been a long, hard season and playing at Don Valley is harder than it seems. The points were just that bit too much for us in the end but next season we won't have that handicap.'
