'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Football League Trust

The Football League Trust have announced today that they have given the Community Teams at Charlton, Lincoln, Peterborough, Port Vale, Tranmere and Watford £10,000 to run the Miss Dorothy programme as part of their activities.

The Miss Dorothy programme helps children between the ages of seven and ten to learn how to manage everyday risks and how to lead safer lives. Staff from each club will visit schools to help educate the children about the benefit of excercise through sport and their wellbeing.

Football League Trust General Manager, Dave Edmundson told the Football League's Official Site, that they are delighted to be supporting this scheme. 'By using sport as a vehicle to teach children about safety we hope to engage as many seven to ten year olds as possible. We are aiming to roll out the 'Miss Dorothy' programme to all seventy-two clubs and use the power of football to make a difference to people's lives.'
