RUFC - Striker signs extension

Rotherham United striker, Drewe Broughton is said to be delighted on signing an extension to his contract that will see him with the Millers until the summer of 2010.

'I am delighted with the deal,' Broughton told the Official Site. 'I did have one or two calls from other clubs but I feel at home in Rotherham and I feel the club is moving forward and I want to be part of that.

'I have got my fitness levels up and I have proved to Mark Robins that I am worth a contract. My only regret it that I haven't scored more goals this season, so that will be my target for next season.

'It's been a great season for the club and Rotherham United are now a team who are to be taken seriously. There have been many highlights this season but my own personal one was the header against Bury at Gigg Lane.'

Broughton originally came to Rotherham on a months loan from MK Dons but impressed so much he was given a deal until the end of the season.

Thank god for that I thought he might be coming to Lincoln City.

He'll be great for us - when someone tells him how to jump for headers!
