'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins on this weeks happenings at the club

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, has had a busy week this week.
After a short break in Spain, he came back and got stuck into contract talks and signing new players.

Jamie Annerson was the first to come in. Sheffield United had let the 'keeper go and he will now be Andy Warrington's understudy.

Yesterday, Kevin Ellison, completed a move from Chester City and Robins told David Beddows of The Advertiser, 'He's six feet two inches and he's a hard running player. He knows this league and the higher one inside out and he's committed himself to us for two years. He's six feet two inches and can play left, right, down the middle and even at left back. He will become a valuable member of our squad.'

Danny Harrison has triggered a clause in his contract which, as he has played sixty games in two seasons, entitles him to twelve more months with the Millers. Mark Hudson and Jamie Green have both been offered new contracts.

Dale Tonge, Nick Fenton and Drewe Broughton have all signed further contracts and Robins revealed that Broughton has been playing the last couple of months of the season with a hernia problem. 'A new contract is his reward for doing that,' Robins said. 'What Drewe lacks in quality he makes up for in determination and enthusiasm. Fenton has had a good season and Tonge has improved the defensive side of his game and is a good character to have around.

'The fact that they have signed new deals is an indication that they know the club is going in the right direction.'
