RUFC - Brecks Memory Walk

RUFC - Brecks Memory Walk

Rotherham United's Assistant Manager, John Breckin raised almost £93,000 for Rotherham Hospice last year and is dusting off his walking boots to do it all again this year.

John told The Advertiser that there are already more than one hundred people signed up for this years walk and thinks it will be a great feel good community event.

Andy Warrington, Richie Barker and Stephen Brogan have already signed up for the walk along with Vital's very own co-ed mexbro miller.

Last year the route started and ended at Millmoor and Breck says that it was more special because it was the last event to take place at Millmoor. This year the walk will take in Parkgate, Rawmarsh, Warren Vale and Race Course Road with a refreshment stop at the Sandygate House Hotel halfway.

Anyone wanting to register for the walk can do so this weekend at Parkgate Shopping Centre - Saturday from 2pm-5pm or Sunday from midday - 3pm. Registration fee is £7.50 for adults and £5 for children and will include a T shirt, commenmorative medal and a Pukka Pie to start you off. Or you can phone - 01709 308917

The walk takes place on 20th June

Anyone wanting to sponsor Vital's Mex can do so by leaving their name on a thread stickied on Millers Mumblings or by private message to mexbro miller.

Anyone wanting to sponsor John Breckin can do so by visiting - www.justgiving.com/johnbreckin

John Breckin says, 'I know it's hard out there but this is really for a very good cause. It doesn't matter whether you can give a little or a lot, every penny helps to keep the hospice open and Rotherham people should be proud of that.'
