'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ex Owl arrives

Rotherham United have appointed Steve Coakley as the latest Commercial Director.

Steve spent thirteen years working for Derby County and moved to Sheffield Wednesday in November 2004 and he says that he sees his move to the Millers as a great opportunity.

'I've known Tony Stewart for a number of years,' Steve told the Official Site, 'and his ambition speaks for itself. To be part of the resurrection of a club like Rotherham United is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am looking forward to the task ahead. Since I started at Sheffield Wednesday I have increased the profit every year and it was a job I was settled in. It would have taken something special for me to leave it and I feel that Rotherham United fits that description. I look forward to being involved in the work the club is doing towards a new stadium and I think Rotherham United are fortunate to have someone like Tony Stewart backing this project.

'I want to create a sense of unity between the club and the fans. I have been keeping a close eye on Rotherham United as my partner's father is a season ticket holder at Don Valley.'

Steve begins his job at Mangham House in June.

We at Vital want to welcome Steve to his new job.
