RUFC - Pitch getting make-over

Rotherham United have said that work on the pitch at Don Valley Stadium is in full swing.

Groundsman, Ash Davison told the Official Site, 'Since the end of the season we've had thirty tonnes of sand delivered and ten bags of seed. The pitch has always been good in the wide areas but it's down the middle where the work has been most needed. We have had the major renovations done and we are on track for the start of the season but it could really have been done with leaving alone.'

Of course, the pitch can't be left alone because the Millers share the ground with the Sheffield Eagles rugby league side whose season it is now.

'There's nothing we can do about that,' Jim said, 'we just have to get on with it. We've been busy and there's still plenty of work to do but by the start of the season we will have everything ready.'
