RUFC - Robins is pleased he's captured Pope

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, told The Advertiser, that he is 'made up' that Tom Pope made the decision to join the Millers.

Pope, who cost the Millers £150,000 from Crewe Alexander, was watched twice by the Millers Manager last season and Robins says, 'I knew he was the man for us. Not only will he bring us goals he is decent in the air and will be a top player at our level.

'Someone else came in for him at the last minute but we are delighted that he decided to join us. If everything comes to fruition he will cost us £150,000 and there are other details which will remain between the two clubs.'

Pope played seventeen league games for Crewe last season and scored ten goals and he told Crewe's Official Site, 'Crewe is a great club and they improve you as a player and I have nothing but respect for them, but I feel Rotherham is the place where I can build my career and hopefully I can get some goals and help the club get promoted to League One.'
