'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Millers watching the finances

Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, said, that despite just equalling the all time club record of £150,000 by buying Tom Pope, the club are watching the pennies.

Speaking to The Star, Robins said, 'We aim to balance the books and Chairman, Tony Stewart, is being prudent, but this deal is a sign that the club is moving forward. Tom Pope has improvement in him and is willing to learn and he's got a decent pedigree working in the Crewe Acadamy.

'I have a great relationship with the Chairman and he's backed me with this deal. Last season the cup runs helped us financially and there's the season ticket sales.

'We aim to improve on the seventy-five points we got last season which sends out a message to our fans that we are striving to take the club forward.'
