RUFC - Owww Vancey Warner

Rotherham United Nostalgia Society meets this week and the guest for this month is ex defender, Vance Warner.

Vance was born in Leeds and began his career with Nottingham Forest, although in his three years there he only got five first team starts. He first came to Rotherham on loan but was soon snapped up and proved to be a major asset at the back. Vance had great pace and tremendous tackling ability but unforunately, he picked up quite a few injuries which meant he spent long periods out of the side. His only goal for the Millers was on the opening day of the 1998/99 season against Hull City at Millmoor.

Vance, who was capped at Youth Level for England, was forced into early retirement by injuries.

Want to know what Vance Warner is doing now? Well you can if you go to the Nostalgia Society's meeting at The Green Dragon this Thursday, 11th June. The meeting begins at 8.00pm and anyone is welcome.
