RUFC - Millers game in doubt - already

Rotherham United's second league home game of the season against Rochdale could be in doubt because of a U2 concert.

Don Valley is one of only two English venues where U2 are playing during a world tour and it is a sell-out. The concert takes place on, Thursday 20th August with the Millers game against Rochdale being two days later.

Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas, told The Star, 'There is concern that there might be some damage to the pitch, although it will be well protected. But, we have been given assurances that the pitch will be ready for us on the Saturday and, at the moment, we play Rochdale on that date and we don't want to have to move it. We will continue to monitor matters and liaise with the stadium authorities.

'Luckily the midweek game the Tuesday before is away at Grimsby because we certainly couldn't have staged a home game two nights before U2 were due to play there because of the preperation time they require.'

But we don't write the fixtures SB and the powers that be will probably say its not their problem.

No , what I meant is that , we on Vital commented on if there was a home game after the concert, the pitch wouldnt be in a fit state to be played on...not RUFC fault I suppose!!

If you can do any better then get in touch with vital and put your own articles up. Or is it easier to sit there and slate someones efforts, grow a spine and have a go yer sen then get back to everyone on how easy it is.

WHY 'MAKE OUT' THAT ITS IN DOUBT WHEN CLEARLY IT ISN'T. WHY DOOM AND GLOOM AND SCARE MONGERING, POINTLESS ARTICLE AND SORRY SY BUT ANY MONKEY COULD WRITE THIS RUBBISH. I DONT KNOW WHO WROTE THIS BUT IT SURELY CAN'T BE THE USUAL AUTHORS ........ CONTENT USUALLY WORTH READING!!
MILLERS1884
can't see it making a great deal of differance as the pitch wasn't very good to start with last year and it got worst but only the poor drainage got games called off
