'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Croakley '100% sure we have bright future'

Rotherham United's new Commercial Director, Steve Coakley says he can understand why Millers' fans are pessimistic after the last few years of uncertainty but, after only being in the job for a few days, he is 'one hundred per cent sure that the club have a bright future.'

Speaking to The Advertiser, Mr Coakley said, 'For the first time in the clubs history there's a man at the helm with the personal wealth and ambition to make a difference. I have known Tony Stewart for some time and he is a man who sees projects through. This is not a false dawn, there are plans for a new stadium and training ground and we have a fantastic manager here in Mark Robins. In ten years time we could be in the same place as Hull City, Wigan and Reading.'

Before joining the Millers, Steve has worked at Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday and he said, 'I do know what I'm doing and I know what people want. No, Don Valley isn't ideal but it's suitable. I am appealing to businesses, as well as supporters, to believe. After all, we might all have different opinions on football but we all have one common goal - Rotherham United.'
