'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC Community Sports Trust

Rotherham United's Community Sports Trust have secured Heritage Lottery funding for their Coal to Goal project.

This is a project that will look at the Millers' history during the 1940's and 1950's, bringing together young and old in the former mining communities of Rotherham. The project will focus on Rotherham United in the 40's and 50's when there were players who also worked down the pits. Memories will be recorded by fans and former players and will be preserved for future generations of the town.

Community Manager, Zanib Rasool, told the Official Site, 'I am delighted that the Heritage Lottery decided to support the project. I have already talked to people and have heard some fantastic stories that need to be told. After all, it is an important part of our town's history.'

If anyone would like to get involved in this project then please contact Mr Rasool on -
