'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins post match

Rotherham United lost their first pre-season game at Don Valley this afternoon, two-one to Walsall but Manager, Mark Robins said he was pleased with the workout.

Speaking to the Official Site, Robins said, 'It was a decent workout against a good side. We didn't do ourselves any favours by gifting them a goal - when you are up against quality opposition you have to be on top of your game. But, at this stage the performances are going to be up and down because of the fatigue factor. We have really worked the lads hard this week.

'The squad is now down to twenty-two and I don't want it to get any lower than that because this year we have seven substitutes to cater for. Depending on our injury situation we might incorporate some of our young acadamey players in that.'
