RUFC - Q & A Session from Doncaster Rovers

RUFC - Q & A Session from Doncaster Rovers

It's dazza!

User Name ….dazza71

How long have you been supporting Doncaster Rovers? …. I was brought up within half a mile of Belle Vue. First game I remember attending was a League Cup tie against Derby in 1976

What made Doncaster 'your' team? …….I`m a Donny lad although I have always followed Leeds as well. Never had a conflict of interests until 2008. The Play off final was a nightmare!

Who is your favourite ever Donny player? ……. Alan Warboys

Who do you think will be an asset for Doncaster next season? ……. No new signings so no new players to look forward too. Looking forward to Heffernan starting the season

And who would you gladly order a taxi for? ....... Lewis Guy

Have you ever been to Millmoor/Don Valley? ……. Been to Millmoor, first time was just after the miners strike finished and it was not a nice place to be, Rotherham won 2-1.

How you think you will do this coming season? ….. I really think we will struggle, teams worked us out towards the end of last season and packed their midfields to stop us playing. I will be grateful if we finished fourth bottom.

Favourite and Worst football grounds you have visited? I completed all 92 in 1997, Favourite ground was always Villa Park pre seating the Holte end and the old stands being in place down each side. It just had so much history and atmosphere.
Worst ground was Newport County`s Somerton Park.

Favourite food ever bought at a football ground? ……. Went to Rochdale one year on a freezing cold Tuesday night, they was doing Pie and peas for 50p. The pie was full of meat and went down a treat with the mushy peas.

Thanks dazza! Pie and Peas at 50p - I didn't think you was old enough to remember when pie and peas were only that much!

Alan Warboys though? I remember him in a blue and white shirt! Wasn't he at Rovers twice?

Yes, he was also at Bristol Rovers, scored four goals against Brian Clough's Brighton in his first game in charge. Warboys was excellent in either attack or defence. I have been told I've got a memory like an elephant!
