The Millers Take Liberties.....
A battling performance at the new Liberty stadium ensured the Millers travelled back to South Yorkshire tonight with all 3 points.
It was a show of real grit and determination that brought about the great win, true Swansea on todays performance looked a very poor side, but you have to credit the Millers as they didnt let the swans get into the game.
First-half goals from Gregor Robertson and an own goal from Swans defender Garry Monk gave the Millers the edge and Swansea had no complaints at going in at the interval with only a 2-0 deficit.
The win means the Millers pull four points clear of the drop zone, leaving Swansea's automatic promotion hopes a distant dream, indeed they will struggle to reach the play offs on this performance.
Both sides started shakily but it was the Millers who broke the deadlock when a Lee Williamson free-kick was sliced into his own net by Monk after 16 minutes.
And then the Millers doubled the lead when Martin Butler beat the offside trap to set up Robertson for the decisive second on 30 minutes.
It could have been three had Butler converted when through on goal three minutes later.
The second half was scrappy but the millers passed the ball with ease whilst Swansea struggled to put two passes together and it took a late block from Adrian Forbes to deny Paul Shaw in the 70th minute.
A great win for the Millers who were applauded off the field by the traveling faithful.
