RUFC - Millers get behind neighbours World Cup bid

Rotherham United are getting behind Sheffield in their bid to host matches for the 2018 World Cup.

Along with fourteen other cities, Sheffield is an applicant host city and leader of the Metropolitan Borough Council, Roger Stone, told the Official Site, that it would make him very happy to see the greatest teams in the world competing on our doorstep. 'We are in an ideal position to welcome visitors, players, coaching staff, technical teams and the world's media to the hotels, restaurants and businesses in the borough,' said Mr Stone. 'We might even see a few of the world's superstars having a kick about in Clifton Park! Fingers crossed that Sheffield's bid is successful - the people of Rotherham are rooting for you.'
