'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC Community Sports Trust News

Rotherham United's Community Sports Trust has secured a grant that is to allow them to appoint a Community Cohesion Officer.

This will be a first for the Trust and has come from monies provided over a three year period from The Football League Trust plus monies from Rotherham Borough Council.

The job of a Cohesion Officer is to bring people together from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds, cultures and religions via the power of sport.

Head of the Community for the Trust, Dale Spiby, told the Official Site, 'I am delighted to secure the money for the vitally important post. It is an indication of our commitment to making Rotherham a better place to live and enjoy football together.'

Ian Sharps club captain and Community Champion said, 'When players walk onto a pitch everyone is equal no matter what their personal circumstances are.'
