'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Warrington not sure concert will help pitch

Rotherham United's Number One Andy Warrington says that the U2 concert due to take place tomorrow at Don Valley Stadium probably won't do the pitch any good.

Speaking in an interview with Ian Clarkson of GiveMeFootball after the Grimsby win last night, the Millers' 'keeper said, 'The size of the stage is about three quarters of the whole pitch so I don't think it will do us any favours. But, we will just get on with it. I would like to have gone to the concert but there were no free tickets floating about!'

Talking about the clubs expectations this season, Andy said, 'After last season we were installed as the bookies favourites quite early on this season. But with Sven Goran Eriksson arriving at Notts County, that's changed things a little. Some of the names I have seen them linked with have been ridiculous!'

Going on to speak about the squad he was asked if the team would miss Reuben Reid. Andy said, 'With the additions we have made, I think the squad is good enough to cope with Reuben moving on. The gaffer has done well to bring in Adam Le Fondre and Tom Pope. And we've got experience with Andy Liddell and thirty-six year old Paul Warne - he's like a Duracell battery and his energy levels are unbelievable! I think I shall have to check his birth certificate! And, we've got Ian Sharps and Nick Fenton who have plenty of experience and I think there is a good mix of experience and youth this year.'

Andy joined the Millers in May 2007 after having a season with Bury. Before he went to Bury he was a fans favourite with Doncaster Rovers. Andy was Vital Rotherham's Player of the Year for the second time last season and Vital Rotherham sponsor his away kit.
