'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Law 'fans are brilliant'

Rotherham United midfielder, Nicky Law thinks us, the Millers fans, are brilliant! (And, after what we've put up with and are now putting up with, we are!)

Vital Rotherham's player of the month for August, who was on loan at Bradford last season from Sheffield United, thinks the crowds at Don Valley make as much noise as those at Valley Parade. (Do you think he might need to have his ears checked?!)

'Obviously, you're drawn to Bradford because of the big stadium and the big crowds,' he told The Advertiser, 'but that's not always a good thing when you're playing at home. The crowd can turn on you if things aren't going well. The fans here are just as brilliant - there's three or four thousand of them but you'd think there's as many as there are at Bradford. They're excellent supporters. When you move clubs you go to one that you think will progress, not because of fans and things like that and it was a really easy decision for me to come here.'

When he was asked about where he prefers to play, he said, 'I was predominantly a central player when I was younger* but at Bradford I played out on the wing a few times. I'm obviously playing wide at the moment and what is wanted from me is to get balls into the box. I'm happy to do that and I will always give one hundred per cent.'

* Ahh, bless, 'when I was younger' - he's twenty-one now!

the kind of comment you expect from a player new at a club and being feted by the fans. Still, doesn't half leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth given his declaration last year that Stuart McCall had 'rescued' him and salvaged his career. You're lucky to have him, it's a shame he's not got fonder memories of VP tbh
