RUFC - Stewart 'let's unite'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart has called for the fans to 'unite' at Don Valley tomorrow.

Speaking to the Official Site, after a rather traumatic week, Mr Stewart said, 'We've certainly had our fair share of obstacles to overcome in the last couple of weeks and our ambitious plans for this football club are still in place.'

Speaking about Manager, Mark Robins, who he placed on gardening leave yesterday he said, 'I have always vowed never to stand in anyone's way if they believe they have an opportunity to better themselves. Any position in this club is just one cog in the big wheel that is Rotherham United and that wheel doesn't stop moving or slow down because of a change of personnel. Supporters haven't come to watch Rotherham United over the years because of who is in the dug-out - they come to support the team and I am confident they will still do that. At the moment we have one of the strongest squads that we have had for years - a group of player who aren't just talented but totally committed and these guys deserve our upmost admiration and support.

'John Breckin will take care of the team for the derby with Chesterfield tomorrow. And, tomorrow provides us with an opportunity to show our solidarity and I will ask everyone to come to Don Valley, wear your Rotherham United shirt and let's unite and continue to work together to create a bigger and better Rotherham United than ever.

'We are in a healthy position - the team in joint top, the Board of Directors are strong, the finances are strong, we have good staff, fantastic supporters and a great deal to be proud of.'
