'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Stadium news 'soon'

Rotherham United are in daily conversation with several parties regarding the location for the new stadium, Chairman, Tony Stewart reveals today.

Speaking to the Official Site, Mr Stewart says, 'I can confidently say that things are starting to take shape.

'The Leader of the Council, the Chief Planner and I are in almost daily talks and we are getting very close to where we want to be. But, only when we are there will we be able to reveal the precise details.

'I know there is frustration amongst everyone on concrete news regarding the stadium. I am an impatient person myself but I have to accept that these things take time.'

Unfortunately, time is one thing we don't really have is it? We know we HAVE to be back playing in Rotherham in less than three years. I am actually working somewhere where we have a new build - it was supposed to be finished in May and, although we are in the building now, there is still the 'little bits' to finish off - making it some four/five months late. And, this is nothing on the scale of a football stadium.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen work on the new stadium begin at the end of last season - the 'next month's' and the 'talking' and the 'revealing soon' is starting to wear a bit thin.
