RUFC - Who is in the hot seat?

Rotherham United were watched at Cheltenham on Saturday by two prospective managers.

Steve Staunton and Steve Cotterill were seen to be taking notes at the one-one draw. Staunton is the Republic of Ireland's most capped player and also had a year managing them. Cotterill has been out of management for a while after managing Burnley for three years. Before that he managed Stoke and Cheltenham.

Les Payne of The Star says that others waiting to be seen by Chairman, Tony Stewart are Ronnie Moore, who the Millers know all about, Kevin Ball who is head of Sunderland's Accademy, Michael Appleton of West Brom, who will have seen the Millers in the recent cup game at The Hawthornes, and ex-Millers, Steve Thompson who is currently first team coach at Blackpool.

At the weekend the club said there were eight people in the frame for the job and interviews would begin this week, with someone, hopefully being put in charge before the game next Saturday.

We can only guess at the other two names in the hat but of the six mentioned above I think I personally would like to see either Steve Cotterill or Michael Appleton given a chance at the job, although Steve Thompson has been doing a good job at Blackpool recently.
