'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Thornber 'new boss will be pleased'

Rotherham United's caretaker Manager, Steve Thornber, says that whoever gets the vacant manager's job with the Millers will be lucky.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, Thornber said, 'They are a good set of lads here and they have shown themselves to be solid professionals who have responded well in the recent circumstances.

'It's been enjoyable working with them over the last few weeks, they've shown me respect and given me everything. They are good enough to be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

'Whoever the new man is he will be very fortunate and he will be pleased with what he finds.'

Interviews for the job vacated by Mark Robins will start today and Chairman, Tony Stewart hopes to have someone in place for the game against Barnet on Saturday.
