RUFC - Thornber Bows Out With A Win

Ronnie Moore watched from the stands on Saturday as Steve Thornber's spell as caretaker-manager of Rotherham ended on Saturday with a 3-0 home win over Barnet.

Thornber was delighted to bow out with a win and feels his side taught Barnet a lesson, as he feels they expected an easy side: 'it was there to see today, Barnet came and I think they thought they were going to roll us over,' Thornber told BBC Radio Sheffield.. 'We did our homework, we knew what their strengths were. They had pace out wide, we knew if we could stop the ball getting wide we'd win the game.'

Barnet had previously been on a run of 9 games unbeaten.

Do you think, like Thornber, that Barnet did arrive expecting an easy match and were punished accordingly?

great win over Barnet, but there is a need to keep in touch with Bournemouth.

I'm pleased that Steve Thornber got a win for his last game - he deserves it for being pushed into a job he has said he didn't want
