'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Fenton 'the boys got me out of jail'

Rotherham United defender, Nick Fenton breathed a sigh of relief after the side got all three points on Saturday at Crewe and he told Gerry Somerton of RotherFM that the boys got him out of jail.

Speaking after the game, Fenton, who is Vital Rotherham's Sponsored home player this season, said, 'It was a lively game and the windy conditions made it an exciting game.

'We started well, passing the ball about, but they got a goal which put us on the back foot straight away. Then Kev (Ellison)put a good ball in for the equaliser which he is chuffed about.

'I had a nightmare for the second goal. I should have just smashed it into the stands like I normally do but I tried to tackle and slipped. He took the ball off me and scored. I was gutted. But then the boys helped me out and Adam (Le Fondre) scored the penalty and Drewe came on and got the winner.

'Adam's on fire at the moment. He's a poacher and we know while he's up there he's going to get goals for us. He's got nine or ten already this season and will probably be looking at finishing with twenty-five. Drewe's a hard working player and we are all delighted that he got a goal.

'The manager seems to have settled in well although he had a difficult start with the loss on Tuesday.

'The three points here sets us up nicely for the two home games that are coming up. We have Hereford next week and then the big one against Notts County the week after.'
