'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ronnie backs Pope

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has backed Tom Pope to get back on the goal trail.

Striker Pope became the Millers' joint record signing when he joined from Crewe in the summer and has scored three goals (one in the league and two in cups)this season.

Moore, who recommended Pope to ex Manager Mark Robins, told Les Payne of The Star, 'He's still learning and in a new division but he'll soon be among the goals. There's plenty to come from him.'

He told Radio Sheffield last night that he's been working with the strikers in training this week. 'We've got the best of the bunch at this level,' Moore said. 'We've got the big strong guy and there's Warney (Paul Warne) who is still quick and sharp. I want to get them into the habit of playing on the shoulder rather than straight down the middle and will work with them morning and afternoon to get that.'

He also mentioned that he would be working with the ones who he considers are still learning their trade, mentioning Ryan Taylor, Adam Le Fondre as well as Pope.
