'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Pablo 'I will always fight for the shirt'

Rotherham United defender, Pablo Mills has told The Advertiser that he will fight for his place.

Manager, Ronnie Moore seems determined to 'freshen up' the squad he inherited just over a month ago and the twenty-five year old says that he is feeling pressure for his place in the side.

'Though, that has always been the case because we've always had a good squad here,' Mills admitted. 'The gaffer says he will bring in his own men and I don't think anyone can rest on their laurels thinking they will get a game every week.

'You have to give that extra ten per cent and show consistency and be on your game - which should be the case regardless of the gaffer saying he's going to bring in new players.

'And, personally, I don't need something like this to give me an edge. I'm one of my own worst critics and I always give one hundred per cent. Whether the gaffer thinks that's good enough is his choice. I will always fight for the shirt and make it as difficult as possible for him not to pick me.'

Speaking about playing under the new manager, Mills went on to say, 'Ronnie has brought in his own ideas and tweaked it to suit how he wants us to play and some of the lads are probably still adjusting a bit.'
