RUFC - Stewart 'Championship in three years'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart has told The Advertiser that we WILL be in the Championship in three years time.

Mr Stewart was speaking after the rumbles and grumbles of the fans after the poor results and play over the last few weeks. 'The reason people are whingeing,` Mr Stewart said, 'is because we have a good side and we won`t settle for second best any more.

'I`m happy when fans are upset with a draw because it shows that the level of expectation is so much higher now. Let`s keep up those expectations.

'We will be in the Championship in three years and there is a good opportunity for us this season and we have to grasp it.

'I know we aren`t playing well but we all know that for some unknown reason, everyone has flat spots.

'Ronnie (Moore) took over failing clubs in Oldham and Tranmere and lifted them. My confidence in him is as strong as ever.`

I think that`s it though isn`t it - Ronnie took over failing clubs and lifted them - when he came to Rotherham United we weren`t a failing club and I think a lot of the supporters are worried that we are now turning into a failing club. We`ve won one game while Ronnie has been in charge. We`ve lost two and drawn the rest. Personally, I can`t see that getting us into the Championship in three years.
