RUFC - ALF glad to be back to scoring ways

Rotherham United's leading goalscorer, Adam Le Fondre told Gerry Somerton of RotherFM that he's glad to be back scoring.

Alf hasn't scored since the draw against Hereford early in October and, although his goal yesterday against Wealdstone in the FA Cup might have been lucky, they all count!

'I'm happy to get one after not scoring for a few games and it keeps me ticking over,' Le Fondre said. 'The second goal from Kev (Kevin Ellison) was a great shank! He said he meant it but I don't think he did.'

Speaking about the game in general, Alf went on to mimic his manager and say, 'We made hard work of it. Full credit to Wealdstone because they turned it into a real battle at the end and they can feel a bit hard done by.

'Two-nil is a horrible score to go in with at half-time. We knew we'd have to ride the storm for the next ten or fifteen minutes, which we did but then they got a goal, got on top and put a lot of pressure on us. We were under the cosh a bit and were fortunate to get another goal.

'Our performance wasn't the best but we're through to the next round so that's all that matters.

'Now we want to build on this and get a good run going in the league and get into those top three places again.'
