RUFC - Millers Reserves Win

RUFC - Millers Reserves Win

Rotherham Reserves 2 v Huddersfield Reserves 0

Rotherham Reserves got their fourth win of the season this afternoon at Don Valley as they beat Huddersfield Town Reserves 2-0.

Birthday boy, Marc Joseph had the first shot at goal which had Town`s 'keeper, Matt Glennon, backpedalling. Glennon got a hand to the ball and put it behind for a corner. Ten minutes later, Tom Pope got a ball through to Ryan Taylor whose shot went just wide but a minute later the home side did get the ball in the net. Jamie Green crossed to Ryan Taylor who, in turn, got the ball to Paul Warne and the veteran striker put the ball in the net. At the other end Jamie Annerson smothered a ball from Joe Skarz before Ryan Taylor played Pope in but the striker was stopped in his tracks by Leigh Franks.

The Millers should have doubled their lead in the opening minutes of the second half when Franks cleared off the line from Ryan Taylor. The second goal came on the hour mark when trialist Gary Roberts` pass found Ryan Taylor and the young striker put past the out-rushing Glennon and into the back of the net. Tom Pope could have made it three when a shot from eighteen yards out just went past the post. Ryan Taylor also hit the post in the last ten minutes.

Sounds like Ryan Taylor had a good game

It seems to me that Pope and Taylor combine well - maybe, just maybe, it's time to give them both a start in the first team?
