RUFC - Moore disappointed not to fetch players in

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore is disappointed that he hasn`t been able to bring anyone in this week on loan.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Moore said, 'We haven`t been able to bring anyone in this week but we won`t give up trying. We`ve come close on a couple of occasions but just fell short but I promise you that we will definitely have somebody in for the Torquay game.

'I can`t believe that people don`t want to leave clubs. Alright, they might be Championship clubs or First Division clubs but they are sat on the bench and not even figuring. And I think, why not just come and have month and get yourself fit and help us out as well.

'Showumni is one we`ve looked at and thought about. He`s six feet five and strong and, although he`s not a prolific goal scorer, he`s got pace which is something we haven`t really got and I think he`d have been ideal for Alfie (Adam Le Fondre). But we knocked on that door and once the agents get involved it seems to drift away.

'Gary Roberts played well in the reserves. He`s only twenty-two and we know he`s lost his way a little bit but he`s got great ability. He knows Pope from his Crewe days and Warney and Lynch from when he was at Yeovil and he gives us something that we haven`t got. He can do short passing but also the sixty or seventy yard ball and he can get forward. He`s just half a yard off the pace at the moment but in two weeks time he`s going to be in magnificent shape. He`s already been offered a contract somewhere else but we`ll have a chat with him and his agent and hopefully he`ll become a Rotherham player. He would benefit us in a tremendous amount of ways by his use of the ball, his goals and his set plays.

'It would be a contract probably to the end of the season with a view to sitting down again to re-negotiate things after Christmas.`

Asked if the fact that Roberts comes with a lot of baggage would be a concern, Moore answered, 'Of course it`s a concern but everywhere you go there`s someone like that. We had Guy Branston and if you can handle Guy you can handle anybody! People do have problems and Roberts has handled his problems really well. He`s been waiting for somebody to give him a chance and hopefully he`ll take the opportunity to come here.`
