RUFC - Fenton 'we need to keep clean sheets'

Rotherham United, along with Bournemouth, have the best defensive record in League Two but defender, Nick Fenton says, 'That means nothing.'

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, the thirty year old said, 'We will only be happy if we have the best defensive record at the end of the season.

'The good teams who go on to win promotion keep clean sheets and win games one-nil which is what we have to continue to do.'

Fenton has formed a good partnership with Ian Sharps at the back, who, along with Andy Warrington in goal, have kept seven clean sheets this season.

'Ian and I have a good relationship and understanding on the pitch and ever since I got here last season it has been good to play together.'

Nick, who signed a two-year contract with the club at the start of this season, was not happy with his performance against Lincoln on Tuesday but said, 'it was fantastic to get another clean sheet.'

Vital Rotherham United are the proud sponsors of Nick Fenton's away kit this season
