RUFC - Moore ponders who to play up front

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore has a selection problem up front....no, not with Le Fondre (I hear Millers' fans up and down the country breath a sigh of relief!).... but who to partner Alfie.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Moore said, 'We gave Ryan Taylor the opportunity at Torquay, and I know the conditions were difficult, but I felt that he didn't take that opportunity.

'And I feel that Ryan is a little impatient when one or two of the crowd are having a go at him. He's a professional footballer and if you can't take some stick there is something wrong. He had to learn to get the crowd on his side by working hard and closing people down. If he adds that to his game then we've got a player there.

'I thought Popey (Tom Pope) deserved a chance at Lincoln because he's been training hard and I am sure his chances will come because he can score goals.

'I've seen all of the strikers now and I'm still not one hundred per cent sure who is the best one to partner Alfie, although I think he looks brighter when Popey is there.

'But, there is no outstanding candidate to play alongside him at the moment and that is a problem.'
