RUFC - Roberts 'two silly mistakes cost us'
Rotherham United loanee, Gary Roberts says that it was two silly mistakes that cost the Millers the win over Luton Town on Saturday in the second round of the FA Cup.
Roberts, who has played at various levels for England, has joined the Millers after being released by Yeovil Town, initially for a month. And, I thought the twenty-two year old was one of the better players on the pitch on Saturday.
Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Roberts said, 'I thought we were the better of the two sides by miles and we should be in the next round of the cup. All the lads are disappointed.'
Andy Nicholas tripped Claude Gnapka in the penalty area and Tom Craddock put away the spot kick to give the visitors the lead. Adam Le Fondre and Stephen Brogan put the Millers 2-1 up before substitute, Ed Asafu-Adjay, equalised for Luton with 16 minutes remaining.
Rotherham Manager, Ronnie Moore said his team were naive after the game and that the replay is a game they could do without.
Richard Money, the Hatters' Manager said, 'We are a Blue Square Premier club who have avoided defeat to a team in the division above us and it was a good team performance right the way through.'
Up to now, no official date has been given for the replay at Kenilworth Road
