'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Moore wants something done with pitch

Rotherham United Manager, Ronnie Moore would like something done with the pitch at Don Valley.

Speaking on MillersPlayer, he said, that the pitch didn't help their game on Saturday against Luton Town.

'It's really heavy down that bottom end,' Moore said, 'and we need to try and get that put right. We need to have a word with the Chairman and maybe to the people at the stadium and see what can be done. It certainly needs doing. Your foot goes right through it when you walk on it so surely something can be done to tidy it up a bit.

Moore was asked if injuries could stem from a pitch in that condition and he replied, 'No, not really. It's more tiredness than anything. I know it's the same for both teams but we're playing on it every other week so it's going to affect us more than other teams.'

Talking about Saturday's game, he said, 'I was disappointed and it was two major decisions that did for us. The penalty - well it was just ridiculous to make a tackle there, you have to keep on your feet. Then to get caught on the half-way line with a square ball, well....

'The replay is just a game we could do without. And when we got drawn against Southampton if we get to the next round it wasn't really one that wetted the appetite of anybody. Though, I don't think any of the South Yorkshire teams got a good draw.'
