RUFC - Alfie happy with Millers

Rotherham United striker, Adam Le Fondre says he is flattered by the attention he has been receiving from teams in higher leagues than the Millers, but he isn't going anywhere.

Le Fondre, known as Alfie or 'The Goal Machine', to the Millers faithful, was signed by Mark Robins, from Rochdale, at the beginning of August and, although the fee wasn't disclosed, it is thought it was a record breaking tranfer deal.

This week Peterborough's Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, admitted they had had a bid turned down for the Millers top scorer prior to the transfer deadline last week.

It is our understanding that Alfie can't actually play for another League club this season, due to FA rules but there have been many reports saying that clubs have been watching him.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Alf, who is twenty-three today (and all at Vital Rotherham wish him a 'Happy Birthday'), said, 'I'm really enjoying my time here and I want to carry on scoring goals and hopefully get Rotherham promoted.'

Unfortunately, he didn't get an early birthday present last night with the Millers losing two-nil to Shrewsbury.
